Paintball gun options: Pistols?

As you can probably tell, we enjoyed the hell out of paintball! So much so that we’re looking into getting our own gear! So during our search for gear I thought it would be great to take you all along for the ride as we do some research into different guns, armors, paint and so forth!

Today I’ll look at pistols. Pistols are still somewhat of a redheaded stepchild in the paintball world. You don’t really see them much in competitive play because they have a limited paint capacity (only 8-12 on average) as well as the air or CO2 cartridges being much smaller so they can only shoot 25-40 shots before they need to be replaced. Some of the new ones are boasting significantly higher numbers than that, but we’ll see if they catch on!

So with so many disadvantages, why even bother? Well first of all is the ease of carrying a pistol. Because it weighs so much less than a full sized marker, it becomes much easier to use over long matches, assuming you have an adequate ammo and air cartridge supply. Also, you have a smaller profile when peeking around corners with a pistol. Smaller profile = less likely to be hit. Another side effect is less pain! Because pistols usually fire at a slower speed, it doesn’t usually hurt as much…unless your being shot up close, then all bets are off!And let’s not forget the primary reason we all came here for: FUN! Wielding a pistol is just plain fun. From western style shootouts to indoor play in tight environments, using a pistol marker is a great way to add some twists to your fun play.

and I never usually post thee kinds of videos, but it was just too funny. ALWAYS POINT YOUR PAINTBALL GUN AWAY FROM YOURSELF:
